The city of Guilin is famous throughout China and the Chinese-speaking world. So many famous people from Chinese history have visited Guilin and remarked upon its outstanding natural beauty that the name is now very much associated with the enchanting peaks and delightful rivers that are to be found here. Guilin has a small but busy airport (Airport code: KWL). This has very good connections within China and a limited number of international connections such as to Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur.
Guilin has two train stations though most visitors need not concern themselves with Guilin Bei (north) station.
There is a bus station that serves long distance routes as well as local services such as to Yangshuo.
